Exhibition Identity & Ephemera.

Identity and collateral for a conceptual exhibition for UK lifestyle photographer, Martin Parr.

Focussing on Parr’s fashion photography, an area within his work less known but still very interesting - he has very contradictory views on fashion despite shooting work for Gucci and during fashion week. This influenced the identity and art direction – looking at the contrast of his own views as well as his own distinctive aesthetic against the prestige and elitism of fashion photography.

A series of gradients created by sampling the colours found in his photography were used as a visual cue - reflecting Parr’s distinctive saturated aesthetic. Supported by quotes from Martin Parr on his views on fashion to create a strong identity formed on the idea of contrast and contradiction.

Posters were designed to be displayed around the location of the exhibition, making use of Parr’s quotes against the brightly coloured gradients, with images of featured photography.

Promotional ephemera was designed with a similar approach. The concertina detailed his approach to fashion photography as well as his photography background - a bold and eye catching piece for visitors to take away with them.
